This is a BETA build! It contains new features and bug fixes that we are planning
for the next public release.
We try to keep our BETA builds as stable as possible (this is
what we use daily in our personal devices). Keep in mind that not all features are
completely tested yet and some unexpected results or crashes may still occur!
What is new in this build
- There are no BETA builds at this time!
- Fixed a potential application crash when feeds use "unconventional" URLs. for
their podcasts (3.1.1.0) - thanks to "MrIch" for reporting that
- Updated the support for Atom feeds to support content generated by Google Reader
- Added a menu option to toggle grouping by feed in the Podcast view. This option
is enabled only when showing all podcasts in the current category.
- Fixed a bug where feed groups were not sorted correctly when "Group by
Feed" option is on.
- Categories are now stored in the same file as the podcasts (TrackState.xml). This
fixes cases where categories and the feeds assigned to them can get out of
sync.
- Added a menu option to toggle grouping by feed in the Podcast view. This option
is enabled only when showing all podcasts in the current category.

Feed" option is on.
- Categories are now stored in the same file as the podcasts (TrackState.xml). This
fixes cases where categories and the feeds assigned to them can get out of
sync.
- Fixed an issue where BeyondPod would fail to update on schedule when only WiFi
connection is available.
- Added "Allow use of GPRS/EDGE/3G" connections in Tools > Settings > Global Settings.
This setting lets you prevent BeyondPod from using the cellular connection for feed
updates and downloads. (Useful if your provider charges you per MB downloaded)
- Added "Force New Posts First" setting to Feed Properties to force sorting of posts
by date in Content View. This is useful if some of your feeds add their new posts
at the end of the feed (instead at the top).
- You can now configure a custom http "UserAgent" string. Please refer to the Resources page for more details on how to set that up.
- Added a setting to Feed Properties to allow for truncating the beginning of podcast
names . Useful when long podcast names start with the same prefix like <show
name>-<episode name>, thus allowing you to see more of the episode name.
- Allow podcast deletions in Feed properties now has a "Use Global Setting"
option. The global setting is in Tool > Settings > General Settings.
- You can now delete downloaded podcasts directly from the Feed Content view. This
feature should make cleaning of the library much easier especially if you turned
off the setting for automatic deletion of podcasts at the end of playback. (thanks
to Bjorn for suggesting that) (2.9.0.7)
- Fixed an issue where immediately after downloading, podcasts were not sorted correctly
in the Podcast View. (thanks to Tom for reporting that) (2.9.0.7)
- When showing all podcasts in the current category, podcasts are now correctly
grouped by feed and sorted based on the specified sort order in their feed. (2.9.0.7)
- Updated the distribution license to GPL v3 (2.9.0.6)
- The icons for VGA devices are now included by default in the install CAB. (2.9.0.6)
- Fixed a bug in the rendering of the Update Log (thanks to MiniMax for pointing
that out) (2.9.0.6)
- In Feeds View, if the Feed Has podcasts pressing the "Right" arrow key
now starts playing all podcasts , the same way as if you click on the green feed
arrow. This makes it a bit easier for non touch screen devices to access this functionality
(thanks to DeVeega for suggesting that) (2.9.0.6)
- BeyondPod will now automatically check and notify you when new Public or Beta
builds are available. (2.9.0.6)
- Added a prototype of an integration of BeyondPod with an external Text-To-Speech
software. Using this integration, you can now "listen" to the content
of text only feeds. For those who are interested to try it, there are instructions
on how to set this up in the BeyondPod's
Resources page at CodePlex (2.9.0.6)
- Added a warning if you try to download a podcast from the content view and there
is no enough free space (thanks to DidierC for pointing this out) (2.9.0.5)
- Added a setting to control if the screen should be automatically turned off on
playback in the internal player (thanks to Gthiel for testing it on Treo 700wx)
(2.9.0.4)
- Fixed a bug in handling atom feeds without rel-attribute in link-tag (thanks to
Luckyloser for finding and fixing that) (2.9.0.4)
- Fixed a bug where the toggle player/podcast and stop playback shortcuts were assigned
on the same key (thanks to negg for finding that) (2.9.0.4)
- Added an option to create categories directly from the "Select Category" screen
(2.9.0.4)
- Fixed an issue where the SIP panel was covering the input fields (thanks to MiniMax
for reporting that) (2.9.0.4)

that "reinforces" the link between the two. (2.9.0.4)
- Improved VGA screen support (2.9.0.4)
- Played podcasts have a slightly different icon to help distinguish them from un-played
or partially played ones (thanks to MiniMax for the suggestion) (2.9.0.4)
- There is a new global shortcut to toggle between podcast and player view. The
default key is "8" and It can be changed using "Change Button Mappings" link in
the Player settings (2.9.0.4)
- When deleting podcasts , there is now a warning if the podcast is being locked
by the external player. (thanks again to MiniMax for reporting that).(2.9.0.4)
- Added screen transitions between some of the views. There is a setting to turn
them on/off in the General settings (Tools > Settings > General Settings) (2.9.0.3)
- Fixed an issue where the Settings screen was not recognizing screen taps (thanks
to MiniMax for reporting that) (2.9.0.3)
- Fixed an issue where, when using the internal player, played positions of podcasts
were not saved across application restarts (thanks to negg and superbobo for helping
me resolve this issue) (2.9.0.3)
- Most views now use a new "kinetic" (iPhone style) finger scrolling. The new scrolling
features were adapted from the iContact open source project - www.supware.net. (Keep

- Added initial support for VGA screens. (If you use a VGA screen device, please
let us know if you find any issues) (2.9.0.2)
- On touch screen devices, BeyondPod will now automatically turn the screen of 10
seconds after you start the playback (only if using the Internal Player) (2.9.0.2)
